Looking In: Deep Inside
You look at me and see the boy
who struggles in his life to find joy
Everyday is just me and him
looking and walking in the dim
He smiles and laughs in sorrow
a disguise just to put on a show
Deep inside he wants to be a hero
but afraid to let it come out and show
and to let everybody know
Hiding himself inside of me
being cautious of what he sees
afraid of getting in jeopardy
He goes through it slow and steady
I'm like this, I've always been
somebody outside looking in
